WELCOME TO THE AWMB WEBSITE!
Art with Mr. Brent opened for business in October, 2017 in Rumford, Maine by professional freelance artist and
educator, Brent Bachelder, who has been teaching for over 30 years. He is also now the Art Teacher at Meroby Elementary School in Mexico, Maine.
Brent grew up in nearby Newry, Maine but left when he was 18 to go to college at the prestigious Rhode Island School of Design in Providence.
He earned a BFA degree in sculpture, and founded his business: Club Neopolsi Creations Design Studio two days after graduation in 1989. In 1991 he began teaching in community centers, schools and other organizations, specializing in primarily after school art programs.
In 1999 he earned a second BFA in Graphic Design from Rhode Island College.
For the last 30 plus years, Brent has worked with a number of well known arts organizations in Rhode Island, including VSA Arts, Providence CityArts for Youth, Riverzedge Arts and was on the RI State roster of arts educators.
He was at one point the Out-of- School-
Time Director at CityArts & worked in arts administration, however he left that position to return to his love of teaching.
Fast forward to 2017 and after 32 years, Brent decided to return to Maine, finding a nice old fixer-upper farmhouse and barn in Rumford, Maine. He brought his successful art studio with him, which is celebrating it's 32nd anniversary in 2021.
Now instead of packing up his supplies into his truck and heading off to schools, he can now host students here in his very own teaching space (though he will still pack up his truck to come see you!)
Exciting future plans, projects and ideas will continue to grow my business and promote the arts in the River Valley/ Western Mountains regions of Maine.
